Leisure in Europe – Just a Handshake Away

Summertime is holiday time, the perfect season to visit spas in the South of Europe and to visit the world’s most beautiful cities. During the first half of 2005, airBaltic was busily opening up new routes from Rīga – four new routes to the fantastic European cities of Paris, Barcelona, Istanbul and Munich.

In March, airBaltic opened its first non-stop scheduled route from Riga to one of the largest cities on the Mediterranean – the European pearl that is Barcelona.  The trip from the shores of the Baltic Sea to the capital city of Catalonia takes 3 hours and 50 minutes, and one-way ticket prices start at a low, low LVL 39.

Holiday-makers are increasingly choosing to spend their vacation in places that are always warm, and Turkey is a part of the mix.  That is why airBaltic launched non-stop flights to the popular destination of Istanbul in March of 2005.  During the summer, until October 29, airBaltic will offer flights to Istanbul on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.  The one-way ticket price starts at LVL 39, including airport fees.  The flight takes 2 hours and 55 minutes.

Since April, the romantic capital city of the world, Paris, has no longer been a distant and unconquerable destination for people in Latvia.  airBaltic offers non-stop flights to Paris for as little as LVL 39 in each direction, including airport fees.  Stroll down the Champs Elysées, scale the Eiffel Tower to observe the city’s beauty at night, enjoy the aura of Montmartre, visit the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, or take part in the commemorations of the storming of the Bastille.  The trip takes less than three hours.

Also in April, airBaltic opened up its fifth non-stop destination to Germany – flights became available to one of that country’s most important cities for business and culture.  That city is Munich.  The proud capital city of Bavaria can be accessed for as little as LVL 39, including airport fees, and the flight lasts just 2 hours and 20 minutes.

All of the flights on these new routes offer the comforts of the Boeing 737-500 aeroplane.  Tickets can be purchased at all airBaltic offices, on the Internet, and through travel agencies.
