Odessa is an interesting destination both for tourists as well as business people, as is confirmed by our preliminary bookings. On August 1, SAS–Radison will open the first international hotel in Kiev. The rise in travel to Ukraine is also due to the decision of the new Ukrainian government to lift the visa requirement for EU citizens. In return, the EU countries now offer visas to Ukrainians free of charge. In today’s world of fast spontaneous decisions and a wide range of choices, the visa requirement sometimes detracts from an otherwise attractive destination. Evidence to this has been the growth in travel to the Baltic states: after Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania became members of the EU, travelers know that no visa is required. The air traffic markets outside the EU are regulated by bilateral agreements. Destinations, capacity and price are not freely decided by the airline. We are therefore very pleased, that on our flights to St. Petersburg, Minsk, Istanbul and now to Odessa we can have one-way fares. The fares to Odessa start at 41 LVL (69 euro). This makes it a lot easier for you to plan your trip and also make a quick decision. Ukraine really is a country worth visiting. Odessa’s reputation has almost a mythical dimension, but Kiev too is a fascinating city, well worth a visit. Due to the record high fuel prices, we have had to implement a fuel surcharge. We might have to increase this surcharge in the future. Though we are fortunate to operate in a growing market, the fuel prices are a heavy burden on us and we will have to pass part of the cost on to you. We will do our best to continue providing you with affordable ticket prices and increase the choices available to you and ask for your understanding regarding this measure.
