The change of airport charges in Riga from November 1, 2004 will support our strategy and significantly lower our costs of ground, enabling us to add more destinations than planned in 2004. We would highly appreciate a similar approach by other airports in the region, which are still among the most expensive airports in Europe. Of course this brings more competition to Riga, but in the long run it will make Riga a more attractive airport. From September 15, 2004, airBaltic is connecting all three Baltic capitals by introducing a morning flight from Vilnius to Tallinn. Regardless of the point of entry into the Baltic States, you will be able to go on to the other Baltic capitals on an airBaltic flight. Travel between the Baltic States is growing and the increased availability of flights will further stimulate this process. With the winter program starting on October 31, 2004, airBaltic will add two more flights from Vilnius. There will be a daily flight to London Gatwick and four flights a week to Munich. From Riga, there is going to be a new flight to Stuttgart. In December, we will add a seasonal flight to Geneva, which will be replaced by an attractive southern destination in March. I hope you enjoyed the flight with airBaltic. Yours, Bertolt Flick President and CEO |
