A good example is the reopened route from Riga to Minsk. Due to capacity constraints on Fokker 50 aircraft, a weekly road transport link to and from Minsk airport has been developed, thus creating a lot more transfer possibilities to/from Minsk. Among other “road-feeder” routes airBaltic Cargo also operates to Tallinn and Vilnius as well as other ad-hoc destinations needed for special shipments or clients. Latvia’s accession to the EU has also made such combinations more efficient due to shorter transit times. The outcome for the customer is a more competitive and reliable product with connections not only between airfreight carriers but also between transportation modes. The same applies to service distribution/sales or cargo uplift inbound, where service enhancements have led to a growing need for distribution improvements, thus airBaltic Cargo is now and will in the future be paying close attention to increasing the so-called “off-line” sales. Our customers will notice these improvements in wider service coverage, enhanced frequencies and a wider delivery choice for their goods. |
