Editorial

In August 2004, we will start flying to Cologne and Manchester from Riga and to Warsaw, Helsinki, Oslo and Vienna from Vilnius. In September, we will add flights from Vilnius to Tallinn, finally connecting all Baltic capitals with each other.

Demand from Vilnius develops fully in line with our expectation, therefore we will continue with the increase in the number of destinations as originally planned. One of the most frequently asked questions to me is, will airBaltic become a low-cost airline. My answer is openly ambiguous. Low unit cost is a requirement in order to survive, lower fares are a requirement of the market and our fares are competitive to the fares of low-cost airlines and they will continue to decrease.

However, we keep our business class and you can earn Eurobonus points on all our flights. We have numerous interline agreements, which are of benefit to us and to you as a passenger. In case of disruption of flights, which can have all kinds of reason beyond our control, we can and will rebook you on our other flights or on other airlines and we will get you to your final destination. We fly to major airports, which are more expensive, but usually well connected by public transport and easily accessible. We check your baggage to your final destination and we are responsible for the delay of the baggage. We stay in the reservation systems, despite its cost.

As a business class passenger you can use airport-lounges and flexibly use your ticket. You can change the time as often as you like at no cost and we will refund the price, if the ticket is not used. You do have priority on getting a seat at the last minute. You also have the advantage of more service on board and on the ground. airBaltic is a very small airline, but providing a very broad service in and to the Baltics. We cannot just cater to the needs of the holiday traveler, but we have to have a wider approach. This can clearly not be a recipe for other airlines, but it is fitting the requirement of our market.

I hope, we manage to meet you requirements, if not please fill out one of the comment forms in the front of the plane.

I wish you a good flight!
