Editorial

The development in 2003 has been very dynamic and as the last new destination this year, we have opened a new direct flight to Amsterdam in November. This is the ninth destination we have opened since 2002 and rings the total number of destinations served up to 15. We are very satisfied ith the development of all our new routes and expect also this new destination to perform well in short period of time. Amsterdam is an important business center as well as a tourist destination and one-way fares starting from 49 Euro without tax should encourage travel to and from Riga on the route.

As part of a program to change and increase our fleet, we have received the first of three Boeing 737-500 aircraft. This aircraft will initially be used on our flights to Copenhagen and thereby increase the capacity on the route. We feel, that very often we have not been able to offer adequate capacity on our flights to Copenhagen, this situation will be improved by introducing the new 120 seat aircraft. During the winter months the number of frequencies will be reduced to four daily flights, but the fifth daily frequency will come back in March. Copenhagen is the most important transfer point for Riga and we want to continue to offer a maximum number of frequencies to all major European destinations.

Also our Fokker 50 fleet has been increased. One aircraft has arrived in October, another Fokker 50 will come in December, this brings the total of our Turboprop fleet to six aircraft. The Fokker is an ideal aircraft for shorter routes and enables us to step by step increase the number of frequencies to our existing destinations. It is also a sufficiently economic aircraft to allow for the introduction of lower fares on the routes served by the Fokker.

As passengers, you will have a wider choice of destination and frequencies at further decreasing prices. This is good news for you and a challenge for us, but we are ready to meet this challenge.

Have a good flight!
