airBaltic starts flights to Tbilisi and Baku

On 2nd May member of SAS Group - Latvian airline airBaltic will commence direct flights from Riga to Tbilisi  - the capital of Georgia and on May 3 Baku – the capital city of Azerbaijan.

The president of airBaltic, Bertolt Flick, comments:  “We are pleased to offer passengers flights to Baku and Tbilisi. Former Soviet Union countries are rapidly developing markets. However, travel possibilities to CIS are limited and complicated from Scandinavia, Baltics as well as the rest of the Europe.  Now, airBaltic can offer its passengers the ease of direct flight from Riga to 30 destinations as well as a number of convenient transit flights via Riga.”

Initially airBaltic will operate flights from Riga to Tbilisi two times per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The flight time with Boeing 737 aircraft will take 3 hours 30 minutes. Flights from Riga to Baku will be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays and the trip will take 3hours and 50 minutes.

The price of a one-way ticket will start at 50.60LVL (including airport fees).
