airBaltic opens flights from Kaliningrad to Copenhagen

On 16 August this year, Latvian airline airBaltic will begin direct flights from the Russian city of Kaliningrad to Copenhagen, in cooperation with SAS and Pulkovo Airlines. This will be the first time that airBaltic has been allowed to operate a direct flight from Russia to a third country.

"Kaliningrad is an important business centre in the Baltic Sea region. Our strategy is to link Riga and Vilnius with all the most important cities in this region and to ensure the most frequent possible flights. We are happy to be able to expand our flight network by offering this direct flight between Kaliningrad and Copenhagen," airBaltic president Bertolt Flick said.

To begin with airBaltic will operate direct flights from Kaliningrad to Copenhagen with a Fokker-50 aircraft four times per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flight time will be 1 hour 45 minutes, and one-way ticket prices will start at LVL 75 (USD 135) including airport taxes. As already announced, airBaltic opened direct flights between Riga and Kaliningrad on 2 July.
