Aviation is a seasonal business; with peak demand in spring and fall and less traffic during the Scandinavian and Baltic summer holidays. Recently, we have started to compensate these slower months by offering different destinations during the summer season, and this concept has proved very successful.
Come ski with me: airBaltic flies to Zurich
Winter is coming, and with it, the ski resorts of the Alps will be opening for business. To make the most of the weather and make sure that you, too, can get away to the pistes, airBaltic is opening direct flights to the Swiss ski heaven of Zurich on 29 October.
New route to Gothenburg
On 29 October, airBaltic will open direct flights from Riga to Sweden's second city and industrial capital, the west-coast city of Gothenburg.
Eastern Magic: new route to Tashkent
Another new route will be opening on 29 October. airBaltic has signed a codeshare agreement with leading Uzbek carrier Uzbekistan Airways, so from the end of October, flights from Riga to the silk-road city of Tashkent will receive an airBaltic flight code.
airBaltic launches scheduled flights to Egypt
This autumn airBaltic launches scheduled flights to two of Egypt’s most popular resorts, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, in cooperation with tour operator Tez Tours. Flights to Hurghada opened on 30 September, while flights to Sharm el-Sheikh start on 14 October and both will last untill the end of next April.
Better than ever: prices slashed on 12 routes
To make sure we maintain our reputation as the most competitive airline in the Baltic region, airBaltic has lowered ticket starting prices on 12 of its key direct flights from Riga.
airBaltic conquers Vilnius
Only two years after starting operations from Vilnius, airBaltic has won the largest market share of any airline at Lithuania’s primary and largest airport, Vilnius International, with a 32% share of the total.
AirBaltic becomes the official airline of Lithuanian band „Skamp“
This September airBaltic signed a cooperation agreement with “Skamp” - one of the most respected and popular live bands in Lithuania and the Baltics. From now on, Skamp will participate in airBaltic advertising and promotion projects in Lithuania and abroad. At the same time, airBaltic will help Skamp reach their concert venues throughout Europe.
