Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, was the home of historical giants such as Genghis Khan and Tamerlane. Now the hub of a booming business empire which is transforming the surrounding region, it is rapidly becoming a major player in Central Asian business and politics. The codeshare agreement between airBaltic and Uzbekistan Airways will give passengers access to flights on the Riga-Tashkent route, as well as to onward flights from the two cities. Flights from Riga to Tashkent will depart twice per week, on Mondays and Fridays, while flights from Tashkent to Riga will depart on Fridays and Sundays. |
