The two resorts, long regarded as the crown jewels of Egypt’s Red Sea coastline, are among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Offering a vast range of beach and leisure activities, including the best warm-water scuba diving in the northern hemisphere, they are also within easy reach of the magnificent temples and pyramids of the Nile valley – not to mention the fact that winter temperatures in the area hover around 20 degrees, while temperatues in Latvia can drop below -20.
“We are delighted by our cooperation with Tez Tours, one of Latvia’s largest tour operators. With the opening of scheduled flights to two of Egypt’s resorts, passengers will be guaranteed the widest possible choice of holiday plans, buying a complete package from a tour operator or buying airBaltic tickets separately,” airBaltic president Bertolt Flick commented. Hurghada and Sharm have been traditional package destinations for some time, but this is the first time that scheduled flights have been made available from Riga. The range and value for money of hotels in the area makes it a tempting offer for even the most budget-wary traveller: for example, a stay in a 5-star hotel in Sharm can cost as little as a stay in a 2-star hotel in Paris. This winter, the airline plans to operate a total of more than 50 flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. Flights on these routes will depart on Saturdays. Flights will offer a business class (available only to tourists who reserve a complete package in travel agencies). Tickets for flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh can also be bought online at the airBaltic website and in ticket offices. |
