Since Latvia joined the EU, studies on flight patterns in the individual member states have been carried out. On average, people in the 15 old member states of the EU average 2,34 flights per year, in the new member states, excluding Romania and Bulgaria, 0,59 flights per year.

New springtime routes
airBaltic is set to expand its rostrum of cities reachable from Riga and Vilnius this spring. New routes are to be launched from Riga in the coming months to Gomel (Belarus), Rome and Athens, and from Vilnius to Rome, Milan, Brussels and Zurich. The addition of these cities makes a total of 38 airBaltic destinations now available direct from Riga and 16 scheduled routes available from Vilnius.

Opening up Africa and Austria

Supporting opera and theatre
airBaltic has been supporting the Latvian National Opera for over 10 years, and the Latvian National Theatre for four years. As the official air carrier of the opera and theatre, airBaltic provides performers with tickets whenever they go on guest performances abroad. The national airline is now continuing its strategy of support into 2007.

Far from simply being content with its reputation as the market leader in scheduled flights to and from Riga and Vilnius, airBaltic is now expanding its charter-flight business by flying tourists to high-class resorts and VIPs to any destination they choose.
