This long and successful period of cooperation has been based on common goals that airBaltic and the national traditions of opera and theatre share. Despite working in quite different fields, they are united in their drive for creativity and the ambition to stay internationally competitive. They are also alike in that they promote the image of Latvia around the world.
The Latvian National Opera invites performers to Riga from all over the world and also sends our own performers to take part in shows in other countries, thus promoting both Latvia and airBaltic aboard. Both the opera and airBaltic are evaluated not according to local standards, but according to their position in international ratings. We hope that with our continuing support we will be able to help the opera maintain and even raise its high standards, said Bertolt Flick, airBaltic President and CEO. In 2007 and beyond, airBaltic plans to stick by its support for culture, because cultural tourism of which opera, theatre and museums play an important part is what makes the Baltic capitals so appealing to incoming tourists all year round. |
