The Riga Marathon offers three distances – a marathon distance of 42,200m, a halfmarathon of 21,100m and a mini-marathon of around 6,500m. This year's event will be the most scenic ever, taking in the Old Town, crossing the River Daugava, enjoying the scenic panorama of Pārdaugava and circling Ķīpsala Island with its quaint wooden architecture.

The marathon's honorary patron is Jelena Prokopcuka, the Latvian athlete who astounded audiences to win the prestigious ING New York City Marathon in both 2005 and 2006. More information at www.nordearigamarathon.lv
