Fly airBaltic for Europe’s top ski resorts

This winter airBaltic has special tips for skiing fans wanting to reach Europe’s best slopes with minimum fuss. The airBaltic network provides numerous quick connections, and it’s easy for skiers to take advantage of them.

Suggested destinations include Munich, Germany’s gateway to the Alps. From here you can easily reach a wide choice of resorts including Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Kitzbuhel, Spitzingsee and others. This winter airBaltic has increased its flight frequency between Riga and Munich. Munich is now reachable 8 times a week, including twice a day on Saturdays. Vilnius to Munich flights operate daily except Tuesdays.

On the other side of the Alps, another airBaltic destination, Milan, lies within striking distance of the sunny southern slopes. The Aosta Valley is rated as one of the most beautiful ski areas in Italy, but there is also Sestriere, home to many prestigious skiing competitions and Bardonnechia plus several low-cost resorts. airBaltic flies between Riga and Milan daily and between Vilnius and Milan on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

If your budget is rather bigger, Zurich can be your point of arrival to access some of the classiest Swiss resorts such as St. Moritz, Zermatt and Davos. airBaltic flies between Riga and Zurich on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. There’s also a weekly flight to Zurich from Vilnius on
Saturdays. One-way tickets to Munich, Milan and Zurich start from EUR 46, including taxes and Internet transaction fee.

For anyone tired of the increasingly crowded Alps, why not try an alternative destination that you may not have considered before? Scandinavian ski resorts are well worth discovering. Close to Bergen in Norway is the town of Voss, located between the two most famous Norwegian fjords, Hardanger fjord and Sognefjord. Voss offers excellent skiing opportunities in two separate resorts close to the town. airBaltic flies from Riga to Bergen twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.

Further north again is the village of Ruka not far from Oulu, in northern Finland. Ruka may be small but it boasts no fewer than 29 great slopes and has guaranteed snow from October until May. airBaltic flies between Riga and Oulu three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with return flights from Oulu to Riga on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Oneway tickets to Bergen and Oulu start from EUR 24, taxes and Internet transaction fee included.
