airBaltic reduces fares and strengthens Internet sales

Riga, 10.01.2008

The Latvian airline airBaltic has increased the variety of services sold online and this week reduced fares available through its webpage www.airbaltic.com by LVL 1.00 (EUR 1.30), as demand for web-based purchases has grown over the past year from 30 % to almost 50% of all sales.

Bertolt Flick, President and CEO of airBaltic, comments: "Today, we sell around half of all our tickets on the Internet - and we expect this number to increase. Furthermore, we have also introduced a variety of services available through the webpage – car rental, travel insurance, online check-in, hotel booking. These developments are designed to offer a full travel package to passengers who increasingly prefer Internet as the main tool to plan and purchase trips."

"Booking a flight via Internet has one additional advantage - it is also less costly for airBaltic to handle than other bookings. In order to let passengers take advantage of this cost differential, we have decided to further decrease prices for all airBaltic tickets booked via our website," said Bertolt Flick.

Prices for all other tickets will be increased by LVL 2.00 (EUR 2.60) this week due to higher distribution costs. Tickets in the lowest price categories/clases are sold through www.airbaltic.com exclusively.
