Until now, passengers had to make two separate bookings if they planned a flight consisting of two legs and they would spend EuroBonus points on each booking. But now a journey with a transfer included can be made in a single booking, saving a significant number of points. For example, using the old system, a EuroBonus cardholder who wanted to fly with airBaltic from Moscow via Riga to Munich had to spend 30 000 points for the round trip flight Moscow Riga Moscow and another 30 000 points for the flight Riga Munich Riga. With the new system he or she can now book one inclusive ticket for Moscow Riga Munich Riga Moscow, spending only 30 000 for the whole ticket. In EuroBonus terms, its twice the value. The same rules even apply if the EuroBonus member wants to take advantage of connecting flights between airBaltic and any other airline within the SAS group. As another exmple, if someone had wanted to fly from Riga to Amsterdam via Stockholm, they would have had to make two separate bookings and spend 12 000 EuroBonus points on the airBaltic flight from Riga to Stockholm (return) plus an additional 30 000 points on the route Stockholm to Amsterdam (return), spending 42 000 points in all. Now they can book one combined ticket Riga Stockholm Amsterdam Stockholm Riga and spend just 30 000 points. All airlines within the SAS group are eligible, including SAS, airBaltic, Estonian Air, Wideroe and Blue 1. If a member wants to change an existing award booking in order to get the new lower price, they need to cancel the original booking (note that this may lead to them losing their seat plus any expired points) and make a new award booking. A change cannot be made if the bonus trip has already commenced. Children of 0-2 years of age travel for free and children under 18 years of age are entitled to a 50% discount on bonus trips. |
