Editorial

In April, Air Baltic has started to fly to a number of new destinations. Our route network out of Riga now includes Venice and Nice in Southern Europe, Almati in Central Asia, Erevan in the Caucasus, and Kishinev in Moldova. In the Baltic region we have opened flights from Riga to Billund in Denmark, Kuopio in Finland, and Aalesund in Norway. In addition to our successful operations from Riga to Liepaja we have added Ventspils as a second domestic destination in Latvia. More destinations will be added before the summer. From Air Baltic’s second base in Vilnius, our customers will now be able to board direct flights to Paris and to Odessa.

Summer’s hottest new destinations
From June 18th, airBaltic adds a hugely new important city to its destination list − Sochi. Sochi is quickly becoming Russia’s number one tourist resort and its year-round attraction is clear from the fact that it will host the Winter Olympic Games in 2014. But in summer Sochi is a seaside resort on the Black Sea with guaranteed sunshine.
New domestic flights in Latvia
airBaltic is an international airline but still has an important national role in Latvia, so with that in mind, the airline has been operating a new domestic service between Riga and Ventspils. The city is an important port and a significant financial and cultural centre in its own right that has enjoyed significant development and investment over the last decade. As well as being an important business destination, it has a lot to offer in terms of leisure with a fine castle, plenty of activities and uncrowded sandy beaches.
New ticket office in Klaipeda
On April 15th, airBaltic continued its expansion in Lithuania by opening a third ticket office in the country. The latest addition is in the port town of Klaipeda, based in ‘BIG’ shopping and recreation centre on Taikos avenue 139.
E-Ticket makes travel easier than ever

The Latvian national airline airBaltic completed the introduction of E-tickets. From now on, all passengers will be able to board their flights without a paper ticket, not only to direct destinations served by airBaltic, but also on an increasing number of connections.

More passengers means bigger planes
You know the feeling – as your family grows, you need more space. Well, it’s much the same with airBaltic’s ever-expanding customer base. So at the beginning of April, airBaltic was delighted to take delivery of its first 200-seater aircraft, a Boeing 757-200. As well as being the largest type of plane operated by any Baltic airline, it is also “greener” than other aircrafts as it consumes less fuel per passenger. It clearly demonstrates airBaltic’s ongoing commitment as an environmentally responsible airline.
Online travel guide gains printed edition

There’s good news for all independently minded Latvian travellers as website www.anothertravelguide.com, in cooperation with airBaltic, has published a printed guide to major European cities. The first issue covers everything you need to know about Berlin, London, Madrid, Rome and Paris.

Spring in Europe’s most beautiful gardens

Nice - The perfect destination in any language
Nice by name, and even nicer by nature, the capital of the Cote d’Azur can justifiably claim to be the place that invented the concept of the city break. And even now there are few destinations that can match it.
