The economy in the Baltic region has been rapidly expanding, and will continue do so in the years to come. One driving force in this development has been the growing economic integration between the Baltic States and their Nordic neighbors. Markets in the Nordic region, for automobiles, washing powder, or banking services, are increasingly seen as constituting one single market. When talking about the Baltic region, one should not forget the Russian enclave Kaliningrad, a fast growing city that is increasingly successful in attracting not only Russian but also foreign investments. Integration of markets cannot proceed without a tightly meshed and efficient transport network. And in this respect, airBaltic has been playing an important role.

Over the last 5 – 6 years, airBaltic has put a strong emphasis on establishing convenient connections between the Baltic capitals, and between the Baltic countries and surrounding neighbors in Scandinavia, Finland, and Russia. airBaltic today operates 2,200 flights each month in the Nordic region alone. To strengthen our presence in the Nordic/Baltic regions, and to give you a wide choice of flights, more destinations within the Baltic States will soon be added.

In addition, we will increase the number of flights operated on already existing routes. In June, flights on our Riga to Tallinn route will increase, from 4 to 6 daily flights; double daily on Saturday and Sunday and on certain days, large Boeing jet aircraft will be put in operation. On our Riga to Vilnius route, today’s 3 daily flights will be supplemented by one additional flight as well as morning and evening flights on Saturday and Sunday. Riga to Liepaja will see an increase of daily frequencies from 3 to 5. On Riga to Copenhagen, we have reintroduced a flight on Saturday evening.

Our expectations regarding these changes are quite straightforward: the more flights there are available, the more our customers will fly. Taking a car from Riga to Tallinn or Vilnius takes the best of four hours. Why spend the time on the road when you can sit back comfortably onboard our aircraft and arrive in one hour at your destination? With up to 6 daily flights, it is you who will choose when to fly – it’s your schedule that decides your choice of flight, and not the flight that determines your schedule. And, not to forget, you will be back home the same day.

Riga is also developing into a convenient transfer point for the Baltic region. With the additional frequencies and the flights on Saturday and Sunday, you will have the possibility to connect from Tallinn, Vilnius and Liepaja to 47 destinations out of Riga.

Complementing our efficient traffic network have been our competitive fares. Trying to make it even more attractive to fly with airBaltic, we have introduced uniformly priced volume tickets valid for traveling on all our Baltic routes. You buy a block of 20 one-way coupons for 60 LVL each (excl. taxes and surcharge), and use these the way you want on any flight between Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, and Liepaja. Soon we will extend volume tickets to include also destinations in Scandinavia and Finland.

Enjoy your flight!
