As a result of the agreement, airBaltic and Eurolines Baltic will sell each other’s services in their respective offices throughout Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The deal means airBaltic can now offer a ‘ride & fly’ service for clients starting their travel in the Baltic region. For example, a passenger could take a bus from Tallinn, Tartu, Vilnius or Klaipeda and be taken to Riga airport to travel further afield with airBaltic. The route timetable has been developed in the way to enable a variety of onward options. Thus Eurolines will feed airBaltic flights from Riga to the world and airBaltic will return the favour for passengers arriving in Riga but needing to get elsewhere in the Baltics. On some routes Eurolines offers its Lux Express coach, among Europe’s most modern and best-equipped vehicles equipped with wireless internet, video and stereo facilities and plenty of legroom. The bus includes working tables, every seat is equipped with electricity socket and self-regulating air conditioner. During the trip passengers can enjoy hot drinks and newspapers free of charge. Eurolines Baltic has already made its Lux Express concept a success on the Tallinn - Riga route, on which it operates eight times daily (and airBaltic’s flights between the two capitals add another six connections). In June another Lux Express line was opened on the Klaipeda-Siauliai-Riga route, making it the first regular coach line in Lithuania with internet and other luxury-class facilities. The route operates three times daily, so residents of Klaipeda and its region now have a quick and comfortable way of getting to Riga airport. |
