Check-in at the airport

Starting from 1st of February, 2013, EUR 10 fee is applied for check-in at the airport.

Passengers must arrive at the airport early enough to complete all formalities. Time indicated on the flight coupon is the departure time of the aircraft. Flights cannot be held for passengers who are late, and airBaltic holds no responsibility in such cases, therefore please find the check-in deadline for your departure airport below!

Check-in for connecting flights

airBaltic performs check-in to the final destination for all airBaltic operated connecting flights, e.g. passenger can check in from Helsinki to Paris when flying via Riga and for most of the connecting flights where second flight is operated by other airline.

Twilight check-in

If your flight departs from Riga airport, you are most welcome to use Twilight check-in service – you can check in for your flight and drop off your luggage from 7pm until 10pm on the day before your flight departure. It means that on the departure day you can go directly to security control and then to departure gate. Please take into account that there may be lines at the security control, so we recommend arriving at the airport early enough, so you can be at the boarding gate at least 15 minutes before your flight departure.

Self-check-in kiosks

If your flight departs from Riga airport, you can print your boarding pass at one of the self-check-in kiosks located in the departure hall. A self-check-in kiosk is easy to use and takes approximately 1.5 minutes for you to check in.
By the self-check-in kiosk just choose language you prefer (available are English, Latvian, Lithuanian, Russian and German languages) and follow instructions. You will have to enter your booking reference and family name, mark passengers you want to be checked in for the flight and wait for your boarding pass to be printed out. Printing out your boarding pass is an essential process, for you will have to present it, when dropping off your baggage, at the security control and when boarding the plane. Baggage drop-off counter is free of charge.

Check-in deadline when using self-check-in kiosk corresponds to check-in deadline of your flight, which in Riga airport is 40 minutes for Economy class passengers and 30 minutes for Business class passengers. Please note that if you have also baggage to drop off, you need to arrive at the airport even earlier, because deadline for baggage drop-off also is 40 minutes for Economy class passengers (accordingly 30 minutes for Business class passengers). Please take also into account, that there may be lines by the baggage drop-off points, therefore we recommend to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight departure.

Self service check-in is available for all airBaltic passengers with the exception of passenger categories mentioned below:

  • passengers travelling to countries that require passengers passport data to be provided by airline before departure (United Kingdom);
  • passengers who have indicated for special assistance, service or with medical assistance to be provided;
  • passengers traveling in a group (G class);
  • passengers traveling with infant (0-24 m);
  • passengers using unaccompanied minor service.

Special security procedures in Tel Aviv airport

If you depart from Tel Aviv we strongly advise you to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight. There are special security procedures in Tel Aviv airport. Even before you reach the check-in desks you have to go through baggage scan, passenger questioning and full inspection of all of your items. This may take up to 2 hours, and there is one more security control after check-in before you reach boarding gate.
