Pets on airBaltic flights

Pets (dogs, cats, pet birds and rabbits) may be transported in the cabin (we do not allow transportation of reptiles and rodents in the cabin) only in liquid-proof boxes and bags designated specially for this purpose (Sherpa bags), which must be provided by the passenger himself/herself and in which the pet must be kept during the whole flight. Each passenger may take with him/her only one box or bag with maximum 2 pets. The overall dimensions of a box may not exceed 55x40x20 cm and the weight of a box may not exceed 8 kg. If weight exceeds 8 kg pet will be transported in cargo compartment. Pet must fit comfortable in the box or bag. If pet is not fitting comfortable check in might be denied. Pets are not subjected to the free baggage allowance. Passenger himself/herself must obtain all and any documents required for transportation of pets. If pet is transported in cargo compartment, passenger needs to arrive at the airport at least 1 hour before flight departure.

PET TRANSPORTATION FEE
A non-refundable fee of EUR 50 per direction of travel applies for every crate transported irrespective of whether the pet is transported in the cabin as hand baggage or as checked-in baggage. A pet container can include more than one pet as long as they are the same kind, e.g. two birds. They also have to be comfortable. The weight of the container together with the pet may not exceed 32 kg.

INFORMATION ABOUT PET MUST BE PROVIDED WHEN BOOKING TICKET. If booking ticket on the Internet, please call to airBaltic reservation phones and inform about the pet. This information is important to the airline as there are strict regulations to be followed. Only a certain number of pets are allowed on each flight. If the number of pets exceeds the quota on a particular flight or the aircraft configuration does not allow for animal transportation, the airline can refuse to carry pets. Please inform the airline in advance. After receiving the conformation, payment must be arranged via our online payment service.

Special rules apply for transporting pets (dogs and cats) to/from United Kingdom, Ireland and United Arab Emirates.

To United Kingdom/Ireland/United Arab Emirates:

• it is allowed to transport pets as manifested cargo only;
• it is not allowed to bring pets in cabin of aircraft or transport them in checked baggage.

From United Kingdom/Ireland/United Arab Emirates:

• it is not allowed to bring pets in cabin, except service dogs;
• pets are allowed in checked baggage or manifest cargo only.
