Riga, 08.06.2015.

The Latvian airline airBaltic on June 5, 2015, launched a new route between Riga and Thessaloniki (Greece). The new route offers another popular summer destination for Baltic travellers, as well as connecting travellers from the south with Riga, and beyond to destinations in the Baltics, Europe, Scandinavia, CIS and the Middle East.

Christophe Viatte, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic: “Thessaloniki is renowned for its vibrant cultural life, its ancient history, which is visible on the facades of its impressive churches, monuments and buildings, while also being on the shores of the Aegean Sea. It is an ideal holiday destination for culture lovers and sunshine seekers alike. We are delighted to be adding this destination to our route map, broadening summer holiday options for travellers from the Baltic region, and strengthening direct links between northern and southern Europe.”

Thessaloniki never ceases to surprise. It is a city for history lovers – the White Tower on the city's seashore is one of the many landmarks worth seeing, while the monuments, music, and ancient buildings will offer an indescribable feeling even for the most demanding history devotee. But if you are unable to manage a trip without a shopping spree, be sure to stroll the main retail district - Tsimiski.
