Riga, 17.09.2016. 

Airline airBaltic informs that today, on September 17, 2016, due to technical reasons, its flight BT641 with Bombardier Q400 NextGen from Riga to Zurich, made an emergency landing.

According to the initial information, indication of a technical issue with nose landing gear was detected after take-off from Riga, due to which airBaltic crew made a decision to divert the flight back to Riga International airport and make an emergency landing.

According to the intial information 63 passengers, including 2 children and 1 infant, as well as four crew members were on board.

Currently all passengers have left the aircraft and are at the Riga airport terminal. According to the initial information, no injuries were reported. airBaltic regrets the inconveniences caused to the passengers affected.

Press conference with airBaltic management team will be held later in the afternoon. Time and place will be announced.

airBaltic will provide more information after complete investigation of the accident.
