Our recruitment process is fair and transparent for all candidates, we focus on job-related skills and experience to ensure the best fitting candidate gets the job.
General process looks as follows:
Line managers specify requirements for a particular position, including job-specific responsibilities, competencies and academic qualifications, as well as any other relevant information. HR creates advertisement that is posted on internal and external career pages, as well as other channels (www.cv.lv, www.linkedin.com, www.likeit.lv, www.prakse.lv etc).
Independent of information channel, all candidates are redirected to our main career page to apply online. We confirm receipt of application by e-mail.

- Register or log in to your profile
- Review your CV and application letter and upload it
HR evaluates applications and reviews CVs. Profiles matching the requirements of the advertised position are chosen for the next step.
Assessment process usually consists of several steps. Actual process depends on specific position. HR department will keep you informed about each step in the assessment process.
Candidates who are invited for assessment may go through ability tests, role play, group discussion or personal skype interview. During interview, in addition to discussing your experience and qualifications, HR assesses competencies required for the job and checks for an overall cultural fit with the organization.
Shortlisted candidates are invited for an in-depth discussion, where Line manager assesses technical competencies required for the job.
Depending on position level and specifics we may ask candidates to prepare and deliver presentation on a business related topic.
We then inform applicants via email or phone whether or not they have been successful within a reasonable time frame.
Before making a job offer and after the candidate's explicit permission is obtained, references are checked with current and previous employers, as well as academic and professional qualifications are verified.
Where work visa is required, we check work-permit and/or right-to-work status requirements.
Terms and conditions of employment are agreed between Line manager and HR. HR, then, sends a formal Job Offer to successful candidate.
When offer is accepted, airBaltic HR sends out list of documents that have to be submitted before the first working day (those include passport data, bank account details, certificates of education, criminal records, mandatory health check, photo).
This is followed by preparing and signing of employment contract.
On the first working day new employee receives «First Day Info» package and presentation from HR, as well as necessary permits & passes for entering office and/or restricted areas.
Line manager, then, introduces new employee with personal onboarding plan to learn the job duties and responsibilities.
