Travelling via Riga
- You will not be able to travel in case you have an old and a new passport, and the visa is in your old passport, except passport has been changed because of insufficient space. In that case both passports and valid visa in one of them shall be presented;
- You will not pass border control if your visa has expired or has not become valid yet. In case you are travelling from non-Schengen to a Schengen country via Riga, you will have to clear Schengen border control in Riga, even if you are immediately travelling further to another Schengen state;
- If you’re travelling in transit with two or more stops in the Schengen zone you should still obtain a Schengen visa;
- If your residence permit in Schengen has expired and you have already applied for a new one, you can fly directly to your destination country, but you are not allowed to make an en-route stop in any other Schengen country.
