Cancelling your trip
Whether or not you can cancel your booking depends on the ticket type you have selected (Basic, Premium or Business). Before attempting to cancel your ticket, we kindly request that you first read the fare conditions carefully.
BUSINESS – the tickets are fully refundable. Cancellation is allowed anytime within the validity period* of the ticket.
PREMIUM – if booking is cancelled before flight departure refund fee of 50 EUR per direction applies. In case of no-show ticket is non-refundable.**
BASIC – only taxes are refunded. The refund request must be made within the validity period of the ticket.
Flight date/time cancellation can be done by submitting a request through our online payment form.
Passengers in possession of roundtrip tickets who have flown or are planning to fly one way only and wish to receive a refund for the unused part of the ticket, please make sure that the ticket type supports cancellation with refund. In such cases the value of the used portion of the ticket will be recalculated to reflect the price of a one-way ticket, and the remaining difference will be refunded after subtracting any cancellation fees, if applicable to the particular ticket type.
* Ticket validity
- Completely unused ticket: 1 year from the ticket issue date.
- Partially used ticket: 1 year from the date of the first flight.
Cancel a trip due to illness
For a non-refundable fee of only 5.99 EUR per passenger per flight segment you can purchase the possibility to get a refund of your ticket (flight + taxes + fuel surcharge) in case of acute illness on the day of the scheduled departure. This service can only be purchased at the time of booking flights on airBaltic.com or while booking flights via the airBaltic call centre.
Please note that all other services purchased together with your ticket still remain non-refundable.
This service is only available to passengers who are not eligible to purchase travel insurance online from airBaltic (available only for residents of certain countries) and to passengers whose travel period is longer than 31 days.
Cancellation has to be made PRIOR to the scheduled departure time stated on your booking confirmation!
A flight cancellation request has to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. You are required to send a doctor's note in Latvian, Lithuanian, English, Russian or German confirming your illness on the day of departure and your booking confirmation number.
We will only process a refund after we have received the doctor's note and printout of your booking confirmation. Please note that it may take up to 30 days until you get your money back. The refund will be transferred to the bank account from which the original payment for the reservation was made.
**Applicable for tickets booked after 18th of February 2018, for tickets booked before 19th of February, cancellation allowed anytime. A refund fee of 100 EUR applies to each ticket.

The equivalent of the given prices in a different currency may vary depending on the currency fluctuation and applied rate. A bank applies its own exchange rates and commissions, thus the total amount may differ from that on the website.
